SASPject: A lethal injection for bacteria

SASPiPhi‘s SASPject technology utilises engineered bacteriophages to deliver a gene encoding a toxic protein, SASP, to target bacteria, resulting in bacterial death. 

SASPjects are precision antimicrobials.  Different SASPjects are engineered to target different bacteria, and SASPject solutions are envisaged to be possible to target any harmful bacteria.   

SASPjects in development include those targeting Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Acinetobacter baumannii.
