Memorial for Dr Heather Fairhead

A memorial celebrating the life of Dr Heather Fairhead will be held in Cambridge, UK, on the afternoon of Monday, 10th November 2025. For those unable to attend in person, the memorial will be live streamed.

The SASPiPhi team are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Dr Heather Fairhead, SASPiPhi’s co-founder and Director, who unexpectedly passed away on 5th August 2025, after a very short illness.  

 
Heather was a talented scientist and business person.  With a First Class BSc (Hons) degree in Biotechnology from the University of Nottingham, UK, a PhD in Molecular Microbiology from the University of Sheffield, UK, and 25 years of research and development of phage-based technologies, Heather guided the development of her original ideas and concepts into today’s SASPject technology. 

As CEO of early-stage biotech companies, Heather was passionate about the development of solutions to combat antibiotic-resistant bacteria, and her achievements included taking an antibacterial product from concept into the clinic. She was a dedicated professional, a friend to many, and a cherished part of our team. Heather will be greatly missed.
